Background and Training

Dr. Wolk received her B.A. at Sarah Lawrence College.  She spent one of her undergraduate years studying Psychology at the University of London, England.  She completed her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at Long Island University.  Her internship training year specialized in adult and child neuropsychology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, working in inpatient, outpatient and emergency room settings.  Dr. Wolk worked in both clinical and research capacities at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center’s Neurological Institute and at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

 

Dr. Wolk has been in private practice in Westchester, NY for the past 20 years.  During this time, Dr. Wolk has been committed to learning the most up to date, effective and lasting approaches to helping her clients.  Her focus has been on understanding how the mind and body process past and current emotional experiences.  In specific, she has been interested in how these experiences influence behavior in relationships and shape how we view ourselves.  Dr. Wolk has sought training in state of the art treatments, including AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples) and Mindful Meditation practices for psychotherapy.  In addition, Dr. Wolk has lectured and run parenting workshops.
